FAQ
How many people can the COBB cook for?
Depending on the accessory used, the COBB Grill is suitable for cooking for up to 5 people.
Does the COBB run off charcoal or gas?
The COBB offers both charcoal and gas models. Charcoal models use briquettes or lump charcoal, ideal for traditional outdoor cooking with a smoky flavor. Gas models run on portable propane canisters, offering easy temperature control and a cleaner option. You cannot use both fuel types in a single COBB unit — so make sure to choose the model that best fits your cooking style and environment.
Can I use normal charcoal or do I have to use briquettes?
You can use both normal lump charcoal and briquettes with the COBB Charcoal model. However, we recommend briquettes, available at most retailers, as they burn cleaner and provide more consistent heat, requiring less frequent refueling due to their slower burn rate.
How do I light the briquettes in the COBB charcoal to start cooking?
Add 3-4 pieces of firelighter on the base below the fire grid and light.
Add 8-10 pieces of charcoal or briquettes onto the fire grid and place the fire grid above the flames.
Allow to burn for 15-20 minutes until the briquettes turn white (whilst keeping the dome cover off)
You are now ready for cooking! Place your chosen grill plate onto the COBB and close the dome to generate your desired heat and enjoy!

What kind of gas does the COBB Gas run off of?
The COBB Gas model uses screw-in disposable butane/propane canisters, which are readily available at most hardware and outdoor stores. A 450g canister lasts approximately 8 hours on low and 4 hours on high, and it can be removed between uses. Please note that the COBB Gas cannot be connected to an LPG bottle.
How hot does it get?
With the Dome cover on, the COBB Grill can reach temperatures of up to 230 degrees Celsius, comparable to your home kitchen oven.
How do I clean the COBB?
One of the best features of the COBB Grill is its easy cleaning process. Grease and fat are designed to drip into the inner sleeve, which can be removed and washed after cooking.
For an even simpler cleanup, use our Disposable Inner Sleeves while grilling.
Most COBB parts are dishwasher safe (excluding the base)—the dome, grill grid, fire basket, steel bowl, and all accessories (except the pizza stone) can be placed in the dishwasher. The outer base doesn’t collect much dirt and can be easily wiped down with a damp soapy cloth.
For added convenience, you can also use a standard BBQ grill cleaner on the grill components for a thorough clean.
Can all COBB accessories fit in the carry bagwith the COBB?
Yes! There’s a specific way to pack everything so that all accessories and your COBB fit neatly into the carry bag, including the rotisserie. The accessories are designed to be stacked and stored inside the COBB for easy transport.
Can COBB be used indoors?
Do not use a charcoal COBB indoors. COBBs are fuelled by charcoal and produce toxic carbon monoxide, so they can be used in a safe location, such as under a roof on a balcony or patio, as long as there is good ventilation and air circulation.
