COBB’s stainless steel Camp Kettle is ideal for boondocking and off-the-grid camping. It can be used with or without the COBB Cooking System. Also called a Kelly, Ghillie or Volcano Kettle – inspired by traditional Mongolian or Chinese hot-pots which had a central chimney. It is an efficient portable device for quickly boiling water outdoors. Existing coals from your COBB or a fire can be used as well as twigs and other small commonly available combustible materials. It is great for coffee or tea first thing in the morning or washing up after a meal!
The Kettle consists of a water jacket surrounding a central Fire Chamber which creates an upward chimney draft ensuring rapid boiling water even in wet or windy weather. The heat from the fire travels up the middle of the Camp Kettle and exit on top. The 2 stainless steel cups come with cozies to retain temperature. The COBB Kettle holds 50 fl oz (6 1/3 cups) water and weighs 2.5 lbs with the 2 cups included. The Kettle dimensions are 7.3″ high x 6.1″ in diameter.
Use it as a chimney to start your coals! Add water to the Kettle when using it as a chimney to ensure a longer life.
